Musso S.r.l. (branded Gelatiere Musso) manufactures home and professional gelato machines in Italy, based in Mortara (Pavia). The official Azienda page states that in the early 1960s Piero Musso — already the son of a refrigeration technician — conceived a small machine for operators who needed limited gelato production without buying large equipment; the idea was later developed and patented and became the company’s main activity.

Through international trade fairs the company made its production known from Europe to Australia. Mid-1990s success in the American market is described as the step from “small artisans” to an “artisan enterprise,” with products reviewed by major international titles (the site cites examples such as the New York Times and the Financial Times).

Today the company says its aims remain those of the early 1960s: balance between new markets, new production technologies and traditional craftsmanship of a product made entirely in Italy, with attention to detail and function. The site product range covers Gelatiere da Casa and Gelatiere Professionali (models including Mini, Stella, Stella Chef, Giardino, Club, Consul), plus ricambi and ricette.
