Founded in Bologna in 1946 by brothers Bruto and Poerio Carlo Carpigiani, Carpigiani is the world's leading manufacturer of machines for artisan gelato, soft serve and frozen desserts, with headquarters in Anzola dell'Emilia (Bologna), Italy.

The company designs and builds batch freezers, pasteurizers, combined and multifunction machines, soft serve and shake freezers, and equipment for pastry and foodservice. Signature ranges include the Labo and Labotronic batch freezers, Pastomaster pasteurizers, Maestro all-in-one machines and a complete soft serve line for gelato shops, restaurants and quick-service chains.

Part of Ali Group since 1989, Carpigiani supports its equipment through a worldwide network of dealers and factory-trained technicians. In 2003 it founded the Carpigiani Gelato University, whose main campus operates alongside the factory in Anzola dell'Emilia and trains new gelato entrepreneurs at satellite campuses around the world.
